Once upon a time, Glorie was a professional mermaid at a Florida waterpark. She met and fell in love with handsome "Big Dave" Sunday and they moved up north to his New England hometown of Little Blessing, where he is now the mayor.
 
With her performing days long behind her, Glorie opens a mermaid shop across from Moonwater Beach. She thought it would be fun, but business has been deathly slow, despite hosting book readings and mermaid birthday parties.
 
Glorie’s not the chamber of commerce but people keep expecting her to provide directions, resolve their conflicts, and interpret maps to ancient treasures. It’s all too much for this playful soul. Is it time to lock the door and swim out to sea?
